Our Learning Agreement

         What you can expect from us:

  • Communicate in a friendly, open and professional manner.
  • Engage with people in a non-judgemental way, respecting individual’s faiths,
    cultural practices and life choices.
  • Challenge stigma when it arises, and deal with any problems in the classroom
    in an appropriate manner.
  • Provide all materials and handouts necessary for the session.
  • Provide certificates for course attendance.
  • If you are running late for a course and you have let us know, we will tell tutors
    to expect you. However, it is up to them as to whether they are happy for you to
    join the class.
  • Provide a safe, Inclusive and enjoyable learning environment, encouraging
    open dialogue. Tutors may ask students to leave the class if they feel this is
    compromised.

         What we expect from you:

  • Make sure you are registered and confirmed on the courses you attend.
  • Turn up on time, or let the office know you are running late. After 30 minutes, it is
    tutor discretion whether you may be accepted onto the course.
    Be respectful of others opinions and beliefs. Challenge the opinion, not the
    person.
  • Respect peoples differences.
  • Remember that everyone is responsible for maintaining a calm and inclusive
    atmosphere in the classroom that supports students learning.
  • One person speaking at a time, allow people the space they need to talk but be
    mindful that other people also will need space to share.
  • Turn all electronic devices and phones to silent mode and take phone calls
    outside of the room.
  • Ensure the safety of your own personal belongings, at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality; what is shared in the room stays in the room.
